The vital part, the heart and soul

At the heart of our church mission is our practice of tithing to organizations whose good works, we support both locally and around the world. We contribute ten percent of our collection to our monthly tithing recipient but more important is our support of their mission through individual and collective prayer. Through prayer requests from each organization we learn about their specific needs and challenges and often address these topics from a spiritual standpoint in our Wednesday testimony meetings.

We cherish each one of our tithing partners. We feel honored to link arms with them in support of all they are doing for humanity. They really are an extension of our church family!

We invite representatives from these organizations to speak to our congregation about the impact of their missions. Their informative and inspirational presentations allow us to better support them prayerfully. Several of our tithing partners were introduced to us by church members who are directly or indirectly involved with them. We love cherishing both these members and their favored public benefactors in this way!

JANUARY

TITHING RECIPIENT

Unidos! (Unite!) It's an active verb and a call for action that our January tithing recipient, UNIDOS SOUTH OC, heard and is responding to every day in a local San Juan Capistrano neighborhood both near and dear to us. We were introduced to this remarkable group through our Love Our Neighbors Project and our continuing conversations with those inner neighboring communities.

Their mission says it all: "We are cultivating a resident-led movements toward a thriving neighborhood, as a reflection of God's love."

Sunday, January 25th after church, we are looking forward to a presentation from UNIDOS SOUTH OC to learn about their current goals and programs and how we can support their mission.

Groupe Scolaire La Tendresse Democratic Republic of Congo

Part of E3:Elevating Education Everywhere
A primary school started by a family of Christian Scientists who felt compelled to help children. Because of war and civil unrest in the country, many children had their education interrupted or were not able to begin school at all. In fact, the government instituted a rule that if a child hadn't started school by age 7, they were not permitted to start. These children, known as "drop-out children", were welcomed at La Tendresse. The school opened the school year with 125 students and is expected to grow quickly. They employ 7 teachers, who are paid only about $50 a month.

CherishAbility

CherishAbility is a longtime recipient of our church family. Their mission is building a compassionate sense of community and support for Christian Scientists with developmental special needs and their families through financial assistance, informational and inspirational resources, and experiential enrichment activities. They have been involved in this meaningful work for over 40 years and going strong!

CherishAbility is a beautiful example of living unconditional love to the fullest and we appreciate and value them tremendously!

Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley are longtime tithing recipients of our church community. They are a world-class afterschool non-profit, offering quality programs for academic success and healthy lifestyles while building good character and leadership skills in their members. Their mission is to inspire and enable all youth to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens by providing stimulating and challenging programs through interaction and dedicated, caring people.

Boys & Girls Clubs are full of heart and love! We so value and support what you are doing for our beloved community!

CREER Comunidad y Familia

CREER means believe!!

CREER, our long-established partner serves our south Orange County community. They believe in the development of academics, fine arts and leadership programs to instill a strong sense of community in the lives of the most vulnerable and underprivileged children and their families. At CREER they believe that if they give children and youth the means to express themselves in a positive way it will help deter future crime, making our community a safer place for all. CREER also has an amazing assistance program that currently meets the needs of hundreds and hundreds of families a week by providing meals, pallets of diapers and thousands in emergency funds.

CREER, we are honored to partner with you. You are the epitome of love!!

R Star Foundation

R Star Foundation is a longtime tithing recipient and dear friend of our San Juan church community. It is a 100% volunteer-ran organization that serves and educates the women and children of Nepal. Their mission is, "Helping the women and children in Nepal...therefore the world". R Star serves and educates the isolated and disempowered women and children of Nepal. They connect resources to the neediest people in one of the most remote areas on earth and help to bring about peace.

We value and appreciate what R Star is doing so much. It is truly an honor to walk alongside you!

Embraced:Fully

Embraced:Fully is an incredible organization devoted to tangibly supporting those who found Christian Science while incarcerated, and give those newly released a support system to help them successfully re-enter society. Their vision is a world where former inmates experience spiritual transformation and contribute to healing in society. And they are doing that in spades!!

Embrace:Fully, we feel so privileged to walk alongside you. We support your spectacular vision of helping one person at a time, giving them the opportunity to share their unique gift with the world!

Wide Horizons School

Part of E3: Elevating Education Everywhere

Wide Horizons is a new primary school in Nairobi, Kenya. The school aims to bring a good, values-based education to this under served community, giving students new opportunities to expand their horizons. Wide Horizons has an exceptionally sweet, loving atmosphere. The education is based on a strong spiritual foundation of love, honesty, and faithful service to others. The staff love the children and have a strong desire to serve the community and make the world a better place. Wide Horizons is a family, and children of all faiths are welcome.

Our Father's Table

Our Father's Table was founded on the fundamental idea that everyone, no matter background, mistakes made or struggles they face - addictions, mental illnesses, or disabilities - should have a chance to improve their quality of life. Their mission is to walk alongside their brothers and sisters experiencing chronic homelessness and connect them to services and agencies with the goal of ending their cycle of chronic homelessness and ensuring their journey back to restoration success in ending chronic homelessness and ensuring their journey back to restoration success in ending their cycle of chronic homelessness one person at a time.

FAM Family Assistance Ministries

FAM's mission is to assist people in need with food, shelter, and personalized coaching on their journey to independence. FAM is a "whole person" support - focusing on nutrition, housing, counseling and overall health. They are an inter-faith charitable non-profit that provided over 68,000 services last year. Their proven success model focuses on root cause issues to deliver long-term results that change lives in our community for the better.

We are honored to work with this wonderful organization as they provide hope and stability to thousands of people!

International Institute of Los Angeles

International Institute of Los Angeles, founded in 1914 to help newly arrived immigrants integrate into their new lives in Los Angeles. IILA provides assistance to refugees and immigrants securing their first job, getting legal help or finding childcare so they can work outside the home. Throughout the years, IILA has empowered hundreds of thousands of refugees and survivors of human trafficking with skills and resources to become self-sufficient and successfully start new lives in Southern California.

The mission of IILA is to help families become self-sufficient and to promote cross-cultural understanding.

IILA provides transformative services to refugees, immigrants, and working families by promoting self-sufficiency, strengthening resiliency, and honoring cultural identities.
