The vital part, the heart and soul
of christian science, is love
At the heart of our church mission is our practice of tithing to organizations whose good works, we support both locally and around the world. We contribute ten percent of our collection to our monthly tithing recipient but more important is our support of their mission through individual and collective prayer. Through prayer requests from each organization we learn about their specific needs and challenges and often address these topics from a spiritual standpoint in our Wednesday testimony meetings.

We cherish each one of our tithing partners. We feel honored to link arms with them in support of all they are doing for humanity. They really are an extension of our church family!
We invite representatives from these organizations to speak to our congregation about the impact of their missions. Their informative and inspirational presentations allow us to better support them prayerfully. Several of our tithing partners were introduced to us by church members who are directly or indirectly involved with them. We love cherishing both these members and their favored public benefactors in this way!

TITHING RECIPIENT
RSTAR
Let there be peace...
We are tithing this month to R Star Foundation, a local volunteer organization that for two decades has been serving and uplifting the lives in the most remote villages of Nepal.
“Our mission…helping the women and children in Nepal…therefore the world…serving and educating the isolated and disempowered women and children of Nepal. We connect resources to the neediest people in one of the most remote areas on earth and help to bring about peace…”
From their first innovative project providing 89 goats, to a villa program in a pay back economic self-sufficiency program, to a thriving micro finance program, from opening up education for girls to literacy programs for women, developing access to water just to name a few huge steps toward progress, freedom and peace.
A catastrophic earthquake in 2015 was both a challenge and an opportunity to expand R Star’s commitment to the villagers who are now family. Working through that difficult period has provided hope as they are called to respond to today’s challenge (and call for our supportive prayers). Recent massive floods and landslides resulting from a broken glacier have devastated many villages, with thousands of displaced and missing people throughout the area.
You are invited to join us after church on Sunday September 13th for an update from R Star Founder and Director. Please consider the requests for prayer you will hear throughout the month. Visit rstarfoundation.org for a beautiful testimony from a villager who has learned to read and write and the life changes that has brought.
And our children will be taught by the lord and great shall be the peace
of our children.
