About 30 years ago a small group of local Christian Scientists got together with the intention of finding a fresh, more informal way of sharing Christian Science. The group was "on fire" about new possibilities. This evolved into meeting every Monday night for several months. Nothing was "off the table" and all suggestions were discussed. Desiring to consistently abide by the Manual of The Mother Church written by Mary Baker Eddy. We wanted to know what she actually prescribed, and didn't prescribe, in the Church Manual. This resulted in many new suggestions being implemented. In order to put these ideas into practice, the group opened the Christian Science Activity Center in San Juan Capistrano. It was quite an informal group. We were commited to become more involved in the community. At the beginning, there was no real goal to becoming a church but eventually, the Activity Center became a Society, and ultimately a Church. All these years later, the members of our church continue to search for ways to keep things fresh and new. Ultimately the heart and soul
