July 31 @ 5PM: “The Power of Love” – lecture in Spanish (with simultaneous English translation) by Jose Rodriguez Palaez. Available in Spanish on teleconference and Skype.
Aug 8 @ 11:30AM: Wendy Clark will tell us about the work of “Loving Hugs” – "a non profit run by Christian Scientists who supply new or gently used stuffed animals to children in war zones, refugee camps, orphanages and hospitals in 29 countries." Wendy also worked closely with Mayal Tshiabuila, from Les Ecoles du Coeur (Schools of the Heart) in the Congo and will report on her recent visit with him.
Tithing info: This Christian Science Society tithes 10% of our collection each month to Outreach Activities. This tithing is equally split: 5% is contributed to support activities that are sponsored by our church and 5% is contributed to local, national, or global organizations whose mission we support. The tithing recipient for the month of July is “The Troop Support Fund for Christian Scientists Serving in the Military.” Chaplain Stillman makes every effort to contact all Christian Scientists in military service and offers them support. He fills any requests that they may have for any literature available from the Christian Science Publishing Society and sends care packages. For further information: www.CSChaplain.com
