Jan 29-31: Prayer Request: This Society has supported the growth and progress of the Ngochoni Petals of Africa School and community in Kenya since 1997 when the youth-inspired idea was born. 18 Prospective Students who exemplify a commitment to Christian Science, are academically sound, are interested in athletic or other interests, and are willing to leave home to study abroad, will be interviewed by Principia Admissions Staff for the potential of studying at The Principia Upper School in Saint Louis this fall 2012. Principia is a high school dedicated to the development of the whole child as studied in Christian Science. Prayers are welcomed from this moment through Tuesday evening in support of this exchange for the highest potential and place for these students, and the support of their parents or guardians. The student interviews will take place on a non-visitation day at the schools they presently attend and the need is for receptivity at each location. As a special notation, some of these prospective students have been sponsored into Secondary School through means of support by this congregation.

This tithing is equally split: Half is contributed to support activities that are sponsored by our church and half is contributed to local, national, or global organizations whose mission we support. Our January tithing recipient is The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts (known as The Mother Church) which is the world headquarters of the Christian Science Movement. It was founded and established by Mary Baker Eddy in 1859. Today, it has members in 130 countries and has branch churches and societies in 80 countries throughout the world. The church is open to the public and for more information go to christianscience.com
